Hope this finds you happy, heathy and sane.
At the weekend I was drawn by the not so quiet voices, to visit long Meg with a new drum that has just joined our family.
The Cumbrian weather is not kind to drum skins. If you have ever done any drumming outside in our wonderful damp climate, unless you have a synthetic skin drum or a tough skin on your drum, You are likely to end up with a soggy beat by the time you are done drumming.
We were lucky enough to have Long Meg to ourselves , after collecting some water from a nearby sacred well.
This beautiful buffalo skin drum had just arrived, that wanted to sing on Saturday evening.
We arrived at Long Meg with an hour to go before the sun set.
During the drumming I had a spirit visitor that I haven’t seen for a while. Very apt as the first time this particular guide made himself known it was at Castlerigg. The other people taking part in the drum ceremony reported his presence to me afterwards.
When we got home, after the time spent at the circle drumming (which I have shared at the top of the post), when I closed my eyes to try and sleep I could still see the stones, the sunset and the crescent moon. As vividly as if I were standing there. Also I could see tall beings. Not unlike the ones I encountered at Carnac in Brittany back in 2020 when I visited the alignments. The ancestors. They are ready to speak. Can you hear / feel their presence ?
I asked permission from the land spirits to record the drumming and set the phone looking to the sky. When I skipped through the video there are some interesting faces looking down on us while we were at the circle.
