Greetings and salutations beautiful people.
I hope this finds you happy, heathy and sane.
This last little while has been a bit of a revelation for me. in terms of what is important, in life.
Personally, peace is more important to me than rushing around trying to put square pegs in round holes. Fitting in when you were made to stand out, is definitely not something I could be accused of.
Roles that are foisted upon us , rather than chosen, are so difficult to break away from and so are other people’s views and criticisms of what they think you should be doing. We are all unique and we all have our paths to walk. Sometimes we walk alone, sometimes we walk with company.
It has taken me a long time to sit comfortably in the role of Artist. But, mostly that is due to lack of self confidence in standing up and saying… I am an Artist. And being asked when are you going to get a “real” job! As I’m sure most fellow artists and musicians and writers will have also experienced in their lives.
What does it mean to be an Artist?
To me it has always been about soul expression, creation , connection to the divine and most of all, Healing.
Making Art that can evoke emotions, and as a process allows the gradual emergence of the unconscious. This is priceless in terms of psychological and spiritual development.
Art can speak volumes without uttering a single word.
In these changing times, Art ,sadly, it seems , is becoming something that is less human experience and more machine driven commodity.
Where is the sacred experience when typing keywords into a piece of code, to generate an image?
When I feel like this, it’s time to seek out connection with Nature. In the arms of our ancestors, in places that are sacred and the land speaks.
